ABOUT US

Compass Center for Families began as Sheridan County CASA in 1991 when a group of concerned citizens came together to address the need to raise community awareness and involvement in the issue of child abuse and neglect.

In 1999 the Family Visitation Program was added in response to a need identified by the child welfare community.  This program provides children with the opportunity to have safe, conflict-free time with their parents and families through supervised visitation, custody exchanges and visitation negotiation.  Visitation services are provided in a child-focused, family friendly manner and are available 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The value of community involvement which was instrumental in the formation of our organization has continued.  Compass Center for Families works very closely in collaboration with churches, civic groups, Sheridan County School District #2, Next Level, Advocacy and Resource Center, the Department of Family Services, the court system and other community organizations to promote child safety and support families.

We serve Wyoming’s 4th Judicial District, which includes Sheridan and Johnson Counties, and we provide four vital programs for children: the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program, The Family Visitation and Exchange program, Community Parent Enrichment and The Parent Liaison program.
